Press Releases > Posta Romana advances the procedures for the building design, construction and endowment of the Bucharest-North Transit Center and the endowment of the Cluj-Napoca Transit Center

Bucharest, May 19, 2021 - The management of Posta Romana signed the new technical specifications necessary for the international procurement procedures, as a result of the public consultation for the design, construction and endowment of the Bucharest-North Transit Center and the endowment of the Cluj-Napoca Transit Center.

Today, at the company's headquarters, the technical specifications for the design, construction and endowment of Bucharest-North Transit Centre and for the endowment of Cluj-Napoca Transit Centre were signed, meaning a total investment of 22 million euros. These specifications are part of the documentation sent to the National Public Procurement Agency (ANAP) for publication in the European Journal of Public Procurement (JUE) and in the Collaborative Information System for High-Performance Procurement Environment (SICAP) in order to select, from the technical and economical point of view, the best offers for achieving the two objectives.

"It is an important milestone in the radical transformation of the company. For the first time, the efforts to modernize and re-engineer the logistics processes at the company level by digital transformation of the operational postal and courier flows start to take shape and become clear and realistic projects. We submitted to the public debate these strategic projects in order to enter into a conducive dialogue, both with the representatives of Romanian and international companies, which have the capacity to provide the solutions to optimize the operational activities of Posta Romana. We are on schedule, according to the established timeframe, and I am confident that from the moment the procedures will be assigned we will have the automated sorting line from Cluj within about a year, and the center from Bucharest in maximum two years"

I would like to express my gratitude to all the colleagues in the company who contributed to the drafting of these projects. Also, I would like to thank the participants to the public consultation which are kindly invited to register to this tender procedure ensuring them of our full commitment regarding the observance of transparency and fair competition rules stated Mr Horia Grigorescu, General Director of Posta Romana.

Through these investments, by implementing new technologies in the company's processes, the aim is to increase the degree of distribution, to allow the processing of a larger number of items (letters and parcels), shorten delivery times and, in the end, increase the revenues.
